Yes — for Medicaid-eligible patients, there is no out-of-pocket cost for home care services. Medicaid covers personal care, companion care, skilled nursing visits, and more. We verify your eligibility before any services begin so there are no surprises.

✓ $0 cost for eligible NJ Medicaid recipients

Medicaid home care eligibility in New Jersey is based on medical need and income. General criteria include:

  • NJ Medicaid or NJ FamilyCare enrollment
  • A physician's order confirming the need for home care
  • Meeting functional need criteria (assistance with daily activities)
  • Residing in one of our covered counties

Call us and we'll do a free eligibility check on your behalf.

We primarily work with New Jersey Medicaid. However, many clients have both Medicare and Medicaid (called "dual eligible"). We can help you understand what's covered under each and coordinate accordingly. Call us to discuss your specific situation.

Absolutely not. We are transparent about everything. For Medicaid-covered services, families pay nothing. If you need services beyond what Medicaid covers, we will always explain any potential costs clearly and upfront before proceeding.

We offer a full range of in-home care services including:

  • Personal care assistance (bathing, grooming, dressing)
  • Companion care and social engagement
  • Skilled nursing visits (wound care, medication management)
  • Meal preparation and nutrition support
  • Transportation to medical appointments
  • Dementia and Alzheimer's care
  • Respite care for family caregivers
  • Care for adults with complex medical needs

The number of authorized hours depends on the care plan established by the treating physician and approved by Medicaid. Some clients receive a few hours per week; others with greater needs may receive daily visits. We work with you and your doctor to request the appropriate level of care.

Yes. Our caregivers are available seven days a week, including holidays, based on the authorized care schedule. We understand that care needs don't take days off, and we work hard to ensure consistent coverage throughout the week.

Depending on Medicaid authorization and individual needs, extended-hour care may be available. Please contact our care coordination team to discuss whether overnight or live-in arrangements are appropriate and covered for your loved one's situation.

All Aggrey caregivers go through a rigorous vetting process before they ever enter a patient's home:

  • State and federal background checks
  • Reference verification
  • Skills assessment and competency testing
  • Ongoing in-service training and education
  • Supervision by licensed clinical staff
✓ Every caregiver is background-checked & certified

Yes. We take caregiver matching seriously. We consider personality, language, availability, and care needs when making matches. If at any time you're not satisfied with a caregiver assignment, contact your care coordinator and we will work quickly to find a better fit — no questions asked.

Yes. We have staff who speak Spanish and other languages. When you contact us, let us know your language preference and we will do our best to match your loved one with a caregiver who communicates comfortably in that language.

The timeline depends on Medicaid authorization, but we work as quickly as possible. In most cases:

  • Eligibility check: same day or next business day
  • Authorization from Medicaid: typically 1–2 weeks
  • First caregiver visit: within days of authorization

For urgent hospital discharges, contact us directly and we will expedite the process.

Helpful documents to have ready include:

  • Medicaid ID card or number
  • Photo ID for the patient
  • Doctor's contact information for the care order
  • List of current medications and diagnoses

Don't worry if you don't have everything — our coordinators will guide you through gathering what's needed.

Absolutely. If you know someone in our service area who might benefit from Medicaid home care, please encourage them to call us or use the referral form on this page. We'll reach out to them directly and handle everything from there.

We currently provide services across four South Jersey counties:

  • Camden County — including Camden City, Cherry Hill, Voorhees, and surrounding areas
  • Gloucester County — including Woodbury, Washington Township, and surrounding areas
  • Burlington County — including Mount Holly, Evesham, and surrounding areas
  • Mercer County — including Trenton, Hamilton, and surrounding areas

We are actively working to expand our service footprint in New Jersey. If you are outside our current service area, please contact us anyway — we may still be able to assist or refer you to a trusted partner agency nearby.

Yes! Home care isn't limited to private residences. We can provide services in assisted living facilities, senior apartment communities, adult family homes, or anywhere your loved one currently lives — as long as it falls within our service counties and is permitted by the facility.
